Lucas County is located in south central Iowa. It is named for Robert Lucas, an Ohio Governor.
The seat and largest city are both Chariton.
The county is bordered by Warren, Marion, Monroe, Wayne and Clarke Counties.
Main highways include US-34, US-65, IA-14.
